WHAT WE DO
Now-a-days most of the transactions are taking place over the digital platform. Also, due to the pandemic the complete business is moving towards the digital platform.
Movie Distribution is the process of making a movie available for viewing by an audience. The film may be exhibited directly to the public either through a movie theatre or television, or OTT (Over the Top) or personal home viewing (including DVD, video-on-demand, download, television programs through broadcast syndication). The film distribution is the integral part of Movie Business. It is the way a film producer or financier gets back their returns.
The Producers, Directors and Exhibitors are the hard working people in making the movie to generate revenue. But there is a gap between the Producers and Exhibitors which is filled by the Distributors. In paving the bridge the Distributors are with less efforts make agreement with the exhibitors to earn more profits. Thus the exhibitors are making bound to get less profit. The exhibitors are trying to minimize the issues with the monopoly distributors. To curb the monopoly and provide an equal opportunity to all with the distributorship and thus trying to fill the gap between the producers and exhibitors, we are providing a digital platform.
The scope of this system is to facilitate all the registered members to bid for movie distribution and publicity, and who wins the bid can get the proprietorship to distribute the movie.
ROLES
Producer: A person who invests for making the film is called a Producer. They invest in films under a “Production House” brand name. For instance, film producer “Dr Bommaku Murali” owns “Bommaku Creations”, and he produces films under the Bommaku Creations brand name. A film producer is responsible for managing all the expenses of the film, such as payments for the artists, technicians and managing the daily expenses.
Exhibitors: According To Film Glossary, a person who owns theatre(s) is called an Exhibitor. There are two ways an exhibitor may get the rights to display a film in their theatre.
The first method is, on the basis of a pre-agreement with a distributor, who hires the theatre to showcase a film.
The second method is, the releasing centres (A Class Theatres) give advance money payment (theatre advance) to distributors for getting the right to display that particular film in their theatre.
Above explained, the Second method of Film Releasing is dependant on the basis of cast and crew; sometimes it is based on the tie-up between Film Distributor and Exhibitor. Distributors get the return from the theatre and it is known as “Distribution Right”. The ‘Distribution right’ is calculated on the basis of an agreement with the theatre owner/Exhibitor Association and film distributor.
